This was a wonderful book. I never learned so much about the judicial system from one source. If you believe in the system, or even if you don't, you should read this book."

The author has over forty years in law enforcement.  He has meticulously documented the events leading up to the trial. Although the jury process was hard to read it was necessary to make the case. I found myself constantly reading, anticipating the next revelation in the history of the case.  I read the entire book in three days. It draws you into the story and made it impossible to put down. The author did an excellent job documenting the facts of the case and the disappointment with the outcome.  Everyone involved in law enforcement or criminal law should read this book.

"A Judicial Soup" by Shannon Bohrer takes a deep dive into the matter of "The United States v. Heath Patrick Thomas". The book could have just as easily been named "The United States v. Anyone USA". The book repeatedly reminds the reader that the events that occurred could as easily happen to anyone and continue to happen to people everywhere in the U.S.A. A truly insightful look at a serious miscarriage in justice, backed up with relevant anecdotes and terrific historical quotes providing food for thought. "A Judicial Soup" provides a sobering look at the entire system to include law enforcement, judiciary, prosecutors, the media etc.
